DD# 2 thought the inside gunk was gross but insisted on playing in it....

The River...

This was our vacation at New Braunfels. My family loves to go camping and float the river. We have raised my girls to love the out doors. The is a picture of the river from our camp site.

This is my baby floating down the river to where I was sitting. This water is super dupper cold. Not cool....COLD! Can you tell?

This is our God Daughter. When this water hits you in the face it takes your breath away it is so cold.

I love taking pictures. I am not a professional by any means. I am learning as I go. I have Nikon D80. I took these pictures at night in RAW format. I have just started to take photos in RAW. You have so much more control over the adjustments in Photoshop by shooting in RAW. However, they do take up so much more memory. But the end results make it worth the hassle. Let me know what you think.

This last photos if of the Tanglo tree in my gardens. It is loaded with fruit. We should be able to pick the fruit in a couple of weeks. They are so sweet! I feel very lucky to actually still have this tree. Last year when Hurricane Ike hit I just knew I would come home to no trees standing. We actually did pretty well. This tree did not have any limbs broken. The palm trees were the only trees that were actually damaged during the hurricane. But, we were able to save them. They were leaning over the pool. We had to straighten them and then stake them until they were established again.

This is Bella! She is HJ's baby.

Even hubby loves her. He won't admit it....but I have proof. Look at them snuggle. See her giving him kisses?
How could anyone not love that little face! She is a keeper. See her toe nail painted blue? HJ painted it but she would not be still for her to paint the others.

Family Time

We spent a great evening around our fire pit.

Hubby is stoking the fire so he can put on some pork chops.

BJ is enjoying the fire.

And Me....hanging out watching my hubby cook us some dinner.

Love this sun set over the pool and palm trees. It was an awesome evening and amazing weather!

The only things that would make it better was if HJ could have been there too! But we will have more evenings so she can enjoy it with us. She was at a band contest so wasn't able to hang out with us. Contest are over so we will make it up.

Pioneer Women....

I am so excited!! My very good friend took the photos of my daughter for her Senior Year. She submitted one of the photos to display on "The Pioneer Women's" photo website. Out of over 7,000 photos submitted, one the photos chosen was of my daughter. They were taken by Lori Kelso.....She is an awesome photographer!!!!.. You can see her work here. Help Me Rhonda....

Help, Help, Help me Rhonda.....I was outside scooping leaves out of the pool when something caught me eye. Hey, that leave is moving! Anytime things move in the pool, I get scared! Last time we had something moving in the pool it was a "Bull Frog"! UGH!!! Note.....I HATE frogs. And, I was in the pool swimming when my sister-in-law notice the frog. Anyway, back to the moving object in the pool. What is it? It's a ity bity baby mouse!

Poor thing must have been swimming for a long time. It finally got on the Kreepy hose. Whew! Saved by the hose!

Poor little guy.....He didn't make it!

First Day of High School

I know it's been a while since I have posted. I am going to

try to post more often.

The is my baby's first day of high school.

She had to take a picture with "her" baby. The is Bella....she

is a sweetheart! This was her birthday present.
HJ is playing volleyball. She is playing an outside hitter.
Band is also comsuming a lot of her time as well.
I guess it is better to have them busy.

It's All About Football......

I went to see my nephew play football. This is his first year to play. We were really scared because he is really small for his age. We were scared he was going to get squished.

I was impressed......He caught the ball!!!! He was not letting go of that ball.

So he went for it. Take a look at that face. He meant business!!! And he did not get squished! Boy will Meme be happy!!!!!

They didn't win but CB did a great job. I can't wait to see him this weekend!!!!

First Day of School

This is my oldest daughter. Yesterday was the beginning of major change......My baby begin her first day of her Senior Year of High school. I didn't show it in front of her or let her know "I Cried". Most parents are happy, it's the beginning of the end. But for me, it is only the beginning of a hugh change that I am in no way ready for. I keep prayin' God please prepare me, I have raised her to the best of my ability. This child has brought me so much joy in my life. I admire and respect her so much.

Peace, Love & Seniors.....don't you just love how creative they are?

Of course, her first day of school she had to let all the under classmen know who the Seniors are.....

My challege to her is this......find out what her Blue Flame is.....
Pick three talents and three passion......where they intersect........You have Your Blue Flame!

My youngest baby girl.....her first day of 8th grade. She is my passionate one......she is always worried about everyone else. She is the happiest young lady. She is truly my miracle from God. He has great things in store for her. I can't wait to see what God does with her. She will be my rock in the months to come. I look up to her so much and glad she has the best character and is a women of God.

Tuna Does Vegas!

Last night my mom treated all us girls to a night out at The Grand 1894 Opera House in Galveston to see "Tuna Does Vegas". Joe Sears and Jaston Williams does a outstanding job at portraying 11 different characters each. Both of these gentleman have won numerous award for their acting and co-authoring of several plays. This play is a belly rolling of a good time. If you have the chance to see it in your area, take the time. It is well worth the money and time.

It has been a long time since my mom, sister-in-law, nieces, cousins and daughters have taken the time to do a girls night out. We had fun being together and laughing til we cried. I hope we can take the time in the near future to do some fun things together. Life seems to be so busy, we all are caught up in life going full blast ahead. I pray we don't look back with regrets.

Materialistic.......Mom is that me?

I received a phone call on my cell phone.....Mom, am I materialistic? Shocked....I asked, Who said you are materialistic?

Thinking about that question, I pondered, who isn't materialistic? Don't we all like certain things. My husband only wears Wrangler, I prefer Nike tennis shoes, D1 likes Hollister collared shirts. How many people do you know that only wears or wants certain brands. Weather it is brand name food, clothes, purses or cars we all have things we like more than the other. My question would be to the person that asked her that questions.....Aren't you materialistic as well? We should all think about what statements or acquisitions we make before we say them. When my husband and I got married his mother gave us one peace of advice that I wish we would have listened to more closely. Don't ever go to bed mad. And, Words are like feathers, once they have been scattered they can't be gathered. So, my answer to my D1.....yes we are all materialistic to some degree. Is that bad? Maybe or maybe not. God knows your heart....don't ever let anyone convince you of something you know not to be the truth.

This is my all time favorite player! I love watching the Astros especially when Brad Ausmus is playing. Although he is not the starting catcher this season I still remain an committed Astros fan. I love going to Minute Maid Park and watching the game from the stands. My husband bought us tickets to go see the Astros on Brad Ausmus night which is August 29th. I can't wait! I will be taking my camera so I can get some pictures of Brad up close. Our seats are behind home plate. We will leave early so that I can get to Minute Maid Park early......maybe I can have my picture taken with Brad in my Ausmus Jersey. Hopefully he will sign it. Anyway, I will post all the details after the big game. By the way.....the Astros are doing much better now. I pray they can keep winning and playing one inning at a time.

Introduction...

I am new to blogging but love reading everyone elses. So, I thought I would give it a try. I have so many favorite blogs out there that I visit daily. I love to learn and read about people in other area of the country. I have visited a lot of blogs that express how tired they are of the snow. I am truely jealious. I know you think I am crazy but when you have lived in the southern part of Texas your entire life you wish you could experience snow. It is surprisingly normal for us to be wearing short pants on Christmas day. I don't know about you but that just does not seem to fit into the spirit of Christmas. Although two years ago on Christmas Eve we were at our annual Christmas Eve church service and when we walked out after the service was over it was SNOWING!!! We could not beleive it. We never and I mean never get snow and then to get snow on Christmas Eve!!!! That was one of the most memorable Christmas' we ever had. My kiddos said they would never forget that Christmas ever. I hope to soon be posting some pictures. I am learning my way around the blogging world. Please be patience with me as I journey into this new and exciting adventure.
